The Gallery Singers

About Us

The Gallery Singers are a chamber choir based in Telford and Newport, Shropshire. Formed in May 2009, we are essentially a group of friends who love singing together and sharing our music with others. We perform both a cappella and accompanied works, and our repertoire spans from the Renaissance to the present day. We perform a mixture of sacred and secular music and enjoy singing in a variety of styles; from folk to part songs, from madrigals to jazz, from church masses to pop and show tunes. We aim for concerts that are both intimate and entertaining, and perform on a regular basis. In 2013 we entered our first competition, and won first prize in the ‘Mixed Voice’ category, at the Wilmot Dixon North Wales International Choral Festival. We repeated that success this year taking first place in four categories; ‘Best Mixed Voice Choir’, ‘Best Vocal Ensemble’, ‘Best Sacred Songs’, and ‘Best Popular and Show Songs’, at the Mid-Somerset Festival in Bath. Our first CD, ‘Songs from the Gallery’ was released in December 2013 and our second is currently in production. We are available for private hire and perform for weddings and private functions. We also perform to raise money for charitable causes. If you would like to contact us about a booking, please click here. We hope to see you at a concert soon.
